Colouring is important in early childhood education for a lot of reasons as well as helps developing their fine motor coordination hand strength.
Through block play children learn about sizes, shapes, numbers, order, area, length and weight as they begin to construct and build with blocks.
Simple jigsaw puzzles help children develop finger strength, perseverance and problem solving skills. Puzzles are a great way to help the brain function.
